Christina A. McKinnon

Christina McKinnon is the founding attorney of McKINNON LEGAL, and is the firm’s primary attorney. Her legal career began in labor and employee relations in the healthcare industry, but Ms. McKinnon soon realized that her true calling lay in assisting individuals as they face some of life’s greatest challenges.

Since entering private practice, Ms. McKinnon has focused her career entirely on Florida personal injury and family law. Her experience, tenacity, and incredible work ethic have earned her the respect and recognition from both the legal and business communities. Some of the many accolades she has received include:

In addition to her work in the courtroom, Ms. McKinnon regularly volunteers with a number of organizations in South Florida. Her Pro Bono work has resulted in a number of honors and awards, including a volunteer award from the Community Partnership for the Homeless (now known as Chapman Partnership) and a Pro Bono award from Dade Legal Aid for her work with the “Put Something Back” program for indigent litigants. Ms. McKinnon was appointed to the 17th Judicial Circuit Judicial Nominating Commission for a term ending July 2020, where she presently serves as Vice Chair.

Ms. McKinnon was recently selected to the Nova Southeastern University Ambassadors Board, which is comprised of leaders who are passionate about strengthening South Florida through education, economic development, healthcare, and civic service.

 

Felicia Meadows-Stalling – Associate

Felicia Y. Meadows-Stalling is currently an Associate Attorney with MCKINNON LEGAL. She joined the firm after having worked as an attorney with the Florida Family Law Clinic, LLC, and a few other firms in the private sector. Ms. Meadows-Stalling earned her undergraduate degree and graduated Cum Laude from Florida A&M University in 1994, with a Bachelor of Science in Business Economics, and earned her law degree from Howard University School of Law in 1997.

Ms. Meadows-Stalling started her career practicing law in the State of Maryland as an Assistant County Attorney for the Office of the Montgomery County Attorney in Rockville, Maryland practicing in the Child and Adult Protective Services Unit. She litigated child in need of assistance cases and child abuse and neglect cases.   Prior to working for the Florida Family Law Clinic, LLC., Ms. Meadows-Stalling worked in the private sector, owned and operated Felicia Y. Meadows, P.A. and taught legal studies and paralegal studies at the undergraduate level for nearly 7 years. She has experience in the areas of family law, contracts, consumer finance, landlord/tenant and employment law, but now concentrates solely in the area of family law in which she has over 9 years of experience.    

In her spare time, Ms. Meadows-Stalling enjoys spending time with her family, dancing and writing poetry. She is also a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.

Annette Sanchez – Of Counsel

Annette Sanchez serves as Of Counsel to McKINNON LEGAL. A Miami native, she received her Bachelors of Science in Business Management and Organization from the University of Miami in December 2007, earning various accolades including President’s Honor Roll, Provost’s Honor Roll, and Dean’s List. She went on to attend Florida State University College of Law, attaining her Juris Doctor in 2011, where she had the following accomplishments:

  • Member of the Student Bar Association
  • Member of the Women’s Law Symposium
  • Member of LAWtinos
  • Drafted the Interstate Compact on the Placement of Children in Spanish for Puerto Rico to adopt into law
  • Participated in drafting the Spanish Translation of the Florida Constitution
  • Awarded the Evidence in Criminal Litigation Book Award
  • Received the Distinguished Pro Bono Service Award

Annette began her career as an attorney at Children’s Legal Services, where she prosecuted cases of abuse, abandonment, and neglect against the children of Miami-Dade County. She subsequently entered private practice, primarily representing banks and businesses in commercial litigation matters in both state and federal court.

In 2013, desirous of serving the public again, she returned to Children’s Legal Services as a Senior prosecutor. Annette won several Termination of Parental Rights trials and many Dependency trials, receiving only one unfavorable verdict in her entire career as a prosecutor. She facilitated the reunification of parents with their children when appropriate, providing families with the necessary tools and services needed to achieve a safe home environment. When reunification was not viable, Annette took part in ensuring that the children of Miami-Dade County found a forever home either through adoption or guardianship. In 2016, Annette re-entered private practice focusing primarily on family law.

At age 15, having been a classically trained pianist for 9 years, Annette began her own small business as a piano instructor and continued teaching until she went to law school. She was also a cheerleading coach and mentor for girls ages 3 to 5 years old and 12 to 14 years old.

Michelle Del Pino – Law Clerk/Client Relations

Michelle has worked with the firm for over 3 years. Her attention to detail is unparalleled. She is currently an NSU Law student with an expected graduation date of May 2019.

 

 

 

Melina Fuenmayor – Legal Assistant/Paralegal

Melina Fuenmayor is a Legal Assistant/Paralegal with McKINNON LEGAL. She is planning to take the Accelerated J.D. Program at Nova Southern University.  Ms. Fuenmayor is well recognized for being exceptionally good with clients and is bilingual. In her free time, she likes to spend time with her daughter and her husband and loves to play sports, such as volleyball and football.
