Christina McKinnon is the founding attorney of McKINNON LEGAL and is the firm’s primary attorney. Her legal career began in labor and employee relations in the healthcare industry, but Ms. McKinnon soon realized that her true calling lay in assisting individuals as they face some of life’s greatest challenges.
Since entering private practice, Ms. McKinnon has focused her career entirely on Florida personal injury and family law. In addition to her work in the courtroom, Ms. McKinnon regularly volunteers with a number of organizations in South Florida. Her Pro Bono work has resulted in a number of honors and awards, including a volunteer award from the Community Partnership for the Homeless (now known as Chapman Partnership) and a Pro Bono award from Dade Legal Aid for her work with the “Put Something Back” program for indigent litigants. Ms. McKinnon was appointed to the 17th Judicial Circuit Judicial Nominating Commission for a term ending July 2020, where she presently serves as Chair.
Ms. McKinnon was selected to the Nova Southeastern University Ambassadors Board, which is comprised of leaders who are passionate about strengthening South Florida through education, economic development, healthcare, and civic service.
La’Kaya McMullen is a certified Paralegal having completed the accelerated University of Miami Paralegal “Boot Camp” program in 2006.
La’Kaya has worked exclusively in Family Law for over 10 years. Understanding the challenges of Family Law, La’Kaya is dedicated to and enjoys assisting her clients in their time of need. She uses her considerable multitasking skills and customer service experience to help families in transition. La’Kaya is committed to providing attorneys and clients with solid and reliable assistance. She presents a calm, helpful and supportive demeanor, ready to serve as a listening ear to our clients. In addition to Family Law, La’Kaya has also had experience with Estate Planning, Probate, Real Estate and Immigration.
La’Kaya enjoys reading, traveling, and spending time with loved ones. She also enjoys working with youth and has served as a mentor to many in her lifetime. As a part of her youth mentorship, La’Kaya has carried great responsibility serving as a teacher’s aide and administrative assistant for a local and prominent dance institution, as well as having been involved with various optimist club organizations for over 20 years as a cheerleading coach.
Gathy-Anne Brutus has been a Paralegal for the past 14 years. As a Paralegal, she understands her duty to help others solve their problems, and it gives her great satisfaction and pleasure knowing she can be a part of the betterment of other people’s lives. She says she was taught to speak up when something was wrong, and that pushed her to go out of her way to be a voice for the voiceless.
This Legal Assistant has years of experience in law firms and in customer service. She’s a team player who enjoys implementing systems for the good of the whole. Personable, witty and detailed, Diana brings a wealth of law firm knowledge to her role. She enjoys cooking, quizzing her son and telling a good joke.
Seciarra Keaton is an File Clerk/Personal Assistant born and raised in the city of Miami. She strives to accomplish a level of leadership that is able to change people’s beliefs about what they can do, go beyond what was done in the past, and affect people’s mindsets in a way that creates a sense of belonging.
